Dubai is a city in constant growth, and its main attractions are distributed in different parts, so no matter where you stay, you will indeed have to take some transport. Despite this, some areas are much more recommended than others to stay in during your trip. Here are several alternatives: from the most recommended to the best value for money for a great trip to Dubai.
Staying in Downtown Dubai
An excellent point to start exploring the city and, therefore, to stay Downtown, the new center of the town. Downtown Dubai has attractions such as the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, and the Dubai Mall, the largest shopping center in Dubai. This is an excellent area to look for a hotel due to its proximity to these and other attractions ( if you want to know which are the must-see places in Dubai, click here ). Some of the best options are: Know more about Bosporus Turkish Restaurant In Dubai.
The Oberoi Dubai: This hotel, overlooking the Burj Khalifa, has rooms starting at $300 a night. All the details and reservations are here.
Armani Hotel Dubai: This hotel was conceived by fashion icon Giorgio Armani and occupied 11 floors of Dubai's iconic Burj Khalifa skyscraper. It has a private entrance, deluxe spa, and direct access to the Dubai Mall. It has rooms from USD 550 for two people. More information and reservations are here.
Downtown is one of the most popular areas to stay in, but it is also one of the most expensive as alternatives are the areas near the Financial Station or Dubai Internet City metro. Both are very well connected to the main attractions and with three and 4-star hotels at excellent prices (less than 200 USD). Here are some options for you. Best value for money in Dubai
Staying in the financial area of Dubai
Dubai's Downton is beautiful, but the downside is that hotels tend to be luxury, and therefore prices are high, so moving away may be advisable. Just one subway station from the Dubai Mall is Financial Station, an area with hotels with outstanding value for money.
My favorite hotel in the area for its quality, services, and location is the Hotel Towers Rotana, less than 250 meters from the metro station that can take you to the famous Dubai Mall or directly to the airport. Plus, it's steps away from the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. But the best thing about this hotel is the value for money, and it has rooms for two people for 200 USD per night for two people. For a 4-star hotel in downtown Dubai, it is an excellent alternative. Stay at Dubai Tecom (Internet City Station)
Cheaper hotels but of excellent quality, you will find near the Dubai Internet City Metro station. Here you will find 4-star hotels, with excellent services, but cheaper than in the city center.
In my opinion, the area is ideal if you want to explore all of Dubai. Since you will be practically in the middle of all the attractions. Internet City Station is just two stations from the Emirates Mall (where buses leave for Miracle Garden or Global Village ), two stations to the Dubai Marina area, and a 10-minute drive from the famous Burj Al Arab.
In addition, most of the hotels in this area offer bus services that leave you at the entrance to the subway, the beach, or other attractions in the city.
Recommended hotels in Internet City Station
I stayed at the 4-star hotel TRYP by Wyndham Dubai, paying USD 150 per night for two people with half-board (breakfast and lunch/dinner). It has outstanding service, cleanliness, and staff, and the location is perfect, a few steps from the Dubai Internet City metro station. More information and reservations are here.
Where to stay cheap in Dubai?
If what you are looking for is to stay cheap in Dubai, it is not impossible. My first recommendation is to keep around the shopping center and metro station, Deira City Center. The area is well connected by metro to the city center and is just a few minutes from the airport (only 2 Metro stations). So if you are only going to Dubai for a stopover, the area is highly recommended.
I have stayed at the Rove City Center Hotel, paying less than 75 USD per night for two people. The hotel is just 150 meters from Deira City Center Station. The value for money is spectacular, immaculate, and with new facilities and a pool to cool off from the heat of Dubai. You can get more information and book your stay here.
Stay at Dubai Marina
Dubai Marina, or the new Dubai, is a newly created area in the city. It is a vivacious area with hotels and tourist apartments. One of its significant advantages is that it is located steps from the beach and has shops, restaurants, and everything you need for a vacation.
However, I do not recommend it if it is your first trip to Dubai because it is a bit far from the airport and various attractions in the city: 50 minutes from Downtown and one hour from the airport by metro. In addition, in many cases, you will need to take the tram to get to the metro so the journeys will be much longer.
How much does it cost to stay at the Burj Al Arab in Dubai?
If you visit Dubai and your budget allows it, you may want to stay at the Burj Al Arab, the famous sail-shaped hotel. The costs per night vary depending on the season, so it is possible to find rooms from one thousand USD with breakfast included. However, in high season the rooms exceed 3 thousand USD. You can book your room here.
